Actually I have one that works perfectly but it's at the shop so I can't take a picture. |

Here are mine: Attachment: Holders.jpg The neck holder has a piece of 1/4-20 threaded rod sticking out of the dowel. The body side has either a dovetail or a tenon to match the body it is holding. It then has 2 screw that stick into the neck block. The handles are also used for hanging the guitars for drying. |

Mine is simple, although not a good picture , but I use 1 1/4 dowels with 1/4 inch threaded rods in the end that I can attach to the neck or body the I have a 4 x 4 stand with multiple holes to put the rods in while spraying , fitted right its easy to turn / adjust while spraying.. |

That's the ticket, thanks Chris and Wes - a piece of dowel with the 1/4-20 set in it - simple, brilliant! The holy 4x4 looks like a winner as well! |

Here's one of ours, secured with one bolt and brass insert -- the handle is squarish so it can be used with our cam clamp holding device and rotated top/back/sides. We were testing brushing lacquer in this sequence but you could certainly spray. http://www.acousticguitarconstructionfo ... f=33&t=144 |

I was going to make something but I decided to just buy the spray holder jig that Stew Mac sells. It works great. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tools/Speci ... xsr=105991 |

Here's my holder for necks. It's a plywood T held onto a pipe flattened on one end with bolts for strength. The metal tube has a hole on the end for hanging during drying. It's held onto the neck using the same thread bolts as onto the body, just a little longer as my tenon on this neck was a little long. The plywood is high quality, and I preferred that for strength over hardwood 'cuz I didn't want any weakness in the grain. Stew Mac one for me too. Works great if you are spraying multiple guitars, attach a holder to each one, then a plank and some dowel gives you a compact place to store them and swap them out as you spray each one. ![]() |

I made mine with 3/4" and 1/2" conduit. I like to hold the guitar when I spray and then hang it while I spray the neck or another body. I also don't like to have the long hanging bar on while I am sanding or pore filling so the actual neck and body mounts with the 1/2" conduit are held in place with the two nylon eye bolts. This way I have a small handle to maneuver the parts as I sand or pore fill and I simply slide them back into the handle while curing. I have different body brackets to accept the many different styles that come into my shop. If you are wondering why the nylon? I originally used metal eye hooks but the many cycles of on and off would cause tiny metal shavings. With the nylon, no metal shaving contamination. I made a boatload of these years ago to mount guitars to as soon as they arrived in my shop but I no longer do that. I have a staging shelf for the bodies and necks so I have several sets of hangers if anyone is interested. Pretty easy to make yourself if you have a wire welder. |

I tore my rotator cuff holding guitar bodies and necks while spraying with my other hand. At least that's what my doctor said. I was surprised because I thought that my arm would get tired - maybe even cramp up, but it's been hurting for several months, even after two cortizone shots. ...and that was only after two guitars at a time. So, I decided I was going to make some kind of holder and broke down and bought Stew-Mac's holder. I'm looking forward to using it... |

My conduit pipe handles also slip over onto a holder in the spray booth, forgot to mention. I hear you on that one. |
